Learning Objectives:

  • Evaluate supportive therapy in infants with pulmonary hypertension secondary to bronchopulmonary dysplasia, including diuretic and corticosteroid therapy
  • Describe available therapies for a pulmonary hypertensive crisis in an infant with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, including inhaled nitric oxide and milrinone
  • Design an algorithm for chronic pulmonary vasodilation in a neonate with pulmonary hypertension secondary to bronchopulmonary dysplasia, including sildenafil, bosentan, and inhaled prostanoids
